Every writer has an origin story to tell. Lee Mims will join two other local authors, Lisa Carter and Nancy Young, at the Cameron Village Regional Library on May 6th to chat about writing their first books. Join us on May 6th from 6:30pm to 8pm.
I will be doing a reading and signing books at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church on Fairview Road in Raleigh on Thursday, April 7th, at 11:15. I’ll also be talking about my life, juggling two careers, one as an oil painter and the other as a writer, and trying to make them work during lousy economic times. If all goes well, I’ll have a painting or two with me. The Grand Age Club is one of about 65 senior groups sponsored by Raleigh Parks and Recreation. I look forward to meeting everyone!
I will be at the Meet the Mystery Authors event at the Cameron Village Regional Library on Saturday, March 12th at 11am. I will be joined by fellow mystery authors Jamie Mason and Katy Munger.
We will be discussing topics such as our novels, writing styles and characters. There will be a question and answer session after the discussion. The library will have copies available of our novels to check out.
I will be on Topsail Island next weekend for a great event at Quarter Moon Books. I will be the guest author at the Sip and Sign event on Friday, July 10th from 5-7pm. If you are on the island that day, stop by and enjoy a glass of wine and chat with me about books and Topsail Island.

Saving Cecil Summary:
Extracting precious gas from a deposit in North Carolina is a dirty, dangerous job. Geologist Cleo Cooper won’t let the distraction of a dead body found near the drill sight interrupt her focus—until the county sheriff Cleo never wanted to see again arrives on the scene.
Twenty-five years ago, tragedy fell on Cleo’s family, creating a rift between her and her father that has never healed. And Sheriff Clyde Stuckey was the cause. Now Cleo can’t help but remember the painful events she thought were buried by history as she tries to steer clear of a powerful man who’s hell-bent on making her suffer.
